Boil Water Alert Issued in Conway

The Borough of Conway in Beaver County was hit with a boil water advisory this morning after a water main break left more than 700 customers without water Monday. The cause of the water main break is still being investigated. Residents were at the Conway Fire Dept. Monday night, where officials were handing out bottled water. A loss in water pressure could allow contamination through back-flow.
While the water main break has been fixed, officials are still advising that you boil your water for about the next 48 hours. This includes allowing your water to boil one minute before drinking, washing dishes, making ice cubes, food prep or hygiene purposes. Residents are also advised to avoid unnecessary water usage, such as washing clothes.
